At Yada learning centre, we opt to go back to basics, with the future in mind.
We understand the pressure parents are under, balancing work and homelife and the anxiety it causes when you feel you have "dropped the ball"...
Yada means "To know"
and that is exactly what we want for your child!
At YADA we will focus on grade 7, 8 and 9 learners (senior phase).
The groups will not exceed 15 learners per class with a maximum capacity of 30.
We only employed qualified teachers who are able to teach up to FET phase. Both teachers are able to assist neurodiverse learners.
Your child will be faced with many changes during this time as he\she has to navigate their way from being a senior and possible leader in grade 7, to being the "new kid" in grade 8.
New school, new rules and new friends and just as they find their feet, they are faced with making decisions, on which subjects they need to choose for the FET phase.
We want to provide them with the skills and support, so that they can make these decisions with confidence.
Once a child enrolls, they will be given a short test to determine their preferred learning method. This will not only help your child understand what to do to learn optimally, but will also assist our tutors to understand how to present information to your child, when they require a better understanding of concepts covered in class that day.
The next step is a Wise Eye We assessment.
The assessment will point out:
Parents will receive a detailed report on the findings and are then able to decide whether they want to continue with the 12-week course.
For more information on the course, visit their website: https://www.wiseeye.co.za/
Throughout South Africa, the most prevalent challenges for senior learners have been identified as:
Academic Pressure
To perform well academically, can lead to intense anxiety and feelings of inadequacy.
Time Management
The inability to allocate enough time to a task and planning accordingly, leads to incomplete assignments and further anxiety.
Reading with understanding
Reading a lot of words does not mean we understand the story. While much is done to test understanding many teens do not read books anymore and prefer to spend time on social media as a source of information and entertainment.
Academic Pressure
Repetition is key when learning a new skill.
Time Management
We will assist your child in drafting a schedule around deadlines and teach them how to plan around pre-determined activities and deadlines for other subjects.
Reading with Understanding
From the old school "Hangman" to games like "What's your story", we endeavor to find the best possible way to engage your child in in learning new words and broadening their language skills.
Our online tutoring services are designed to fit around your busy schedule. We offer flexible scheduling options, including evenings and weekends, so you can get the help you need when you need it.
A laptop will be available to the learners for project research and additional learning platforms.
No gaming and no social media will be permitted.
Cellphones must be on silent and out of sight until 16H00 and in case of an emergency, parents can send a w/app to the tutor.
Although we encourage learners to stay away from technology while getting to grips with their schoolwork, we are not technology averse at all!
We have extended the invitation of using the Illuminare building, to the Algorithmics team!
Algorithmics offer exciting courses such as Python Pro, Game design, Visual programming and much more. The team will join us in February 2025.
There will be classes available during the week as well as on Saturdays! Learning and extra murals in the same building!

We are not a just a learning centre.
We are part of a bigger community, and we believe that just as the community can offer our children opportunities, our children need to know where to look.
We want to create a space where members of the community can share "how they got there" whether it be a doctor, dancer, salesman or seamstress.
No lecture, no notes required, just some solid information that may assist them with subject or career choices.
There are so many opportunities to get involved, including volunteer projects, and networking events. We want to engage with people of the community to share their skills with the younger generation and prepare them for life. Should you be interested in participating in this initiative, please contact me.
And while on the subject of skills, we thought that some life skills should be dusted off and brought back to life.
So, on Fridays we will cover subjects like:
Kicking off with "How to cover my own books!"
If the summer sun is not your child's idea of fun and he\she needs to cool down after school, there is a pool on site for a quick dip before homework starts!
As many may know, numerous bunnies were dumped in the cemetery over the last 10 years. Some of this "fluffies" have migrated to the premises and decided to make it their home. Learners are welcome to help in the taking care of the residents.
What can be better than a boerie on the braai or a "stokbrood" with syrup after a long week?
At the centre there is an outside braai, perfect for the ultimate braai challenge!
There will be some board games for the learners which they can use after 16H00. If children do not have homework, they will be given revision or alternative exercises to sharpen their skills.
We welcome your input and suggestions.
